Our Journey
After graduating as agronomists from the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, our founders Rodrigo Bedoya, Janos Kadar, and Diego Del Solar became organic inspectors and good agricultural practices auditors; traveling over two years around rural Latin America to certify extremely diverse farming operations: from small scale quinoa farmers in the highlands of Peru, to sesame growers in Paraguay, to large banana multinationals in Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, to name a few. This experience also heightened their awareness of the need to support small scale farmers and impoverished agricultural communities.
In its inaugural year of operations, La Grama became the first Peruvian exporter of organic ginger with a single three-ton shipment to the U.S. Over time, we were able to diversify our offerings with other tropical and exotic products, such as turmeric and avocados.
Now, counting with over 280 employees and a team of 31 agronomists who support over 290 small-scale farmers, our products are cultivated from nearly 800 hectares of farmland distributed throughout the three regions of Peru (jungle, mountains and coast); and exported to the US, Canada, China, Europe and the UK. Since 2017, the founders established Ipoki, an import company located both in the US and Europe, which has allowed us to serve our customers in a better and more efficient way.

- La Grama establishes Ipoki, its own import company in the U.S and Europe.
- La Grama’s top of the line drying facility, the first of its kind in Peru, is completed.
