ASVAMAN® is a standardized extract of Ashwagandha, (Withania somnifera) recommended for energy and endurance. Ashwagandha is a well-known Ayurvedic herb traditionally recommended for many health issues.
The double blind, randomized, placebo controlled study enrolled, male healthy subjects from the age group of 18 to 50 years in compliance with the ICH–GCP guidelines. ASVAMAN® serves as a positive control and placebo group serves as negative control.
Study subjects daily received either ASVAMAN® (300 mg twice daily) or placebo for 42 days. To evaluate the efficacy of ASVAMAN® on improving Energy and Endurance in healthy subjects, Serum Cortisol (Day 0, and Day 42) and Six Minutes’ walk Test Day 0, Day 21 and Day 42) was measured along with One Leg Stand Test, Stair Climb Test, 30 Meter walk test, Chair Stand Test, Quality of Life, testosterone. Overall, the results of this study have demonstrated statistically and clinically significant efficacy for the treatment group subjects supplemented with ASVAMAN® when compared to placebo.
