In December 2020, Marubeni has invested in a Japanese start-up, DAIZ Inc., which produces and develops innovative, eco-friendly plant-based meat ingredient "Miracle Meat" from germinated beans. Under this agreement, Marubeni is in charge of procuring raw materials as well as sales and marketing of their products in Japan and US.

Miracle Meat is a form of textured plant-based protein with improved amino acid profiles and reduced beany off-note through germination method, which utilizes the natural metabolism of beans. We believe this unique, natural ingredient will provide technical solutions for various plant-based food applications and will make your products more clean label.
